Sisal is one of the three types of green floor coverings made of vegetable fiber. It is extracted from the agave, a plant that can be found in the Yucatan bay, Mexico. It is a comfortable and aesthetic cover at the same time: numerous tints are available and one can find a wide choice of weavings types.
Sisal is hard-wearing and stain resistant. It is almost waterproof, antistatic and it fits to any kind of rooms, dry or wet. Finally, its maintenance is easy: regular vacuuming and some shampoo once or twice a year are more than enough.
Not as cheaper as the other types of floor covering made of vegetable fibers, sisal’s price varies from 12 to 35 Euros the square meter.
