Wood fiber provides excellent performance for thermal insulation and is also very effective as a sound insulator, especially concerning airborne sounds. This natural and renewable material has the property of absorbing sounds, whatever their frequency range may be. Great thermal insulator in winter, as well as hemp or cotton wools, the real difference is seen during summer: wood fiber is the best insulator to keep strong heat out of the house.

Wood fiber insulators come mainly in rigid panels of different densities, but semi-rigid panels can be found too. As for vegetal insulators, they must be protected from the livable part of the house by non-combustible materials such as plaster. This insulator is used for roofs, floors and walls.

The only disadvantage of insulating wood fiber is its price, which remains quite high.
