Heat pumps

Heat pumpsThe principle of heat pump is as follows: the system absorbs heat from the outside to restore it, even hotter, inside the house. Heat pump uses renewable and free energy from the soil, air or water and emits no greenhouse gas emissions in the air. The pump runs on electricity, and therefore is not 100% green, but its consumption is very low.

A heat pump can, depending on the model, provide heating, hot water and refreshment for the summer. It may also be associated, if necessary, to an existing facility or a backup heater.

There are several types of heat pumps, depending on the source of energy used. We deal with geothermics when the pump draws energy in the sub-soil, hydrothermics when energy is drawn from groundwater or nearby water points and aerothermics when energy comes from ambient air.

The installation of heat pumps gives you a tax credit ranging from 25 to 40%, depending on the type of pump. However, the government plans to reduce the credit to 10% from 2011.
